My John was a beautiful man inside and out.He loved music,snooker,dancing, his family and friends
but most of all life.When he was told he had bowel cancer 8 years ago he did not give in to it he
just carried on had his operation to remove the tumour then went for chemo,which he hated but did
not moan about because he wanted to live so much.The cancer returned 4 years ago in his lungs,that
did not stop him enjoying life he just carried on as normal,still went for a pint with his
friends,went to Skeg for all his holidays to our caravan which he loved.He made a lot of friends at
the city hospital oncology clinic which he was calling his second home.The only moan he had over the
years was when he had to start having injections every day to thin his blood because of blood clots
in his leg.In the last 2 years of his life he had a lot of illness and the cancer returned in is
bowels which was removed again.He took ill again in November with a massive bleed on the brain,this
time the illness beat him and he died peacefully in the City hospitals hospice Hayward House.I would
like to thank all the staff of Hayward House and all the staff at the oncology clinic for the
fantastic care and friendship you gave John he loved you all.A special thank you to Dr Wilcock,Dr
Potter and her team,Carol,Tracey and all the girls,THANK YOU.I will miss you and love you for the
rest of my life John,thank you for being my partner and my love for so many years.LOVE YOU FOREVER.
PS. He did have a big moan in his life he hated waiting,whether it was for treatment,trains,buses
whatever he hated waiting.

In Memory of You
I find an old photograph
and see your smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
and my heart remembers love.
I read an old card
sent many years ago
during a time of turmoil and confusion.
The soothing words written then
still caress my spirit
and bring me peace.
I remember who you used to be
the laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now,
Where did you go,
When the body is left behind
and the spirit is released to fly?
Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the butterfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colors
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies
edging the clouds with a magical glow.
I miss your being
but I feel your presence,
In whatever form you choose to take,
however you now choose to be.
Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel on high
guiding, advising, and watching over me.
